Spain: Horticultural businessmen to draw brand strategies

Businessmen from the horticultural sector went on a campaign to improve consideration towards the Spanish product abroad, in a market where competition with products outside the European Union is still the dominant note. For that, they are taking support on different strategies and one of them is the promotion of their products quality trough a brand image.

Pink Lady collective - the name comes from an apple variety, cultivated in Catalonia, particularly in the Costa Brava region - the organization, founded in 1994, is formed by 2,800 producers that cultivated the aforementioned variety, a combination between Golden Delicious and Lady Williams.

The team, complemented with packagers and merchants, is making several efforts for the communication of apple qualities. In Fruit Attraction they will celebrate a cocktail workshop to teach how to use the product for that end.

Other companies opted by specializing in the production of fresh cut products, regarding its commerce in supermarket chains. An example of this strategy is made by the company Costa de Almeria that sells prepared pepper through this system. 

On the side of the company Alhóndiga La Unión, that commerce packs of tomato, pepper, cucumber and courgette, they inform that they are negotiating to widen their sales to big brands. They already work with Alcampo, Carrefour and Lideraliment.

Mid-August at the Farm - The Martha Stewart Blog

It occurred to me that it’s been quite awhile since I posted a blog about goings on at the farm.  To be quite honest, we’ve been in maintenance mode, trying to keep all the gardens, shrubs, and lawn looking good.  It’s been challenging because of an intense heat spell and having to water around the clock, followed by cooler temperatures and a bit too much rain.  However, there is still much beauty to enjoy and I present you with some of my farm in mid-August.

Martha, I really like the Woodland Folly and it's surrounding grounds. Could we have a look inside, please?

All of your place is really a great place to be. I don't know how you can stand to be gone so much.

But, speaking of being gone...when are you going back to your other home...is it Lily Pond? I like all three of them and don't know which would be my favorite if I could see them in "person".

Isn't it July and August when you can take cuttings and root boxwood?

Your gardens are breathtaking. I love the variety of plants and produce you've chosen. I agree with Gloria above; the Woodland Folly is so peaceful and tranquil- would love to have a peak inside.

I really like the hornbeam hedge. I'm going to use this as inspiration for our new home's backyard. We have a privacy wall in the very back of the property that I'd like to put a hedge in front to clear the eye sore.

In picture #12 you say ‘kind of a big job’? I’ll say and they do it with a hand edger too. It is the best way so as not to tear up the road and it must be nice to have that kind of energy. Same with Shaun and the trimming and I agree, ‘good arm work’. I trimmed the neighbor’s branches on my side of the fence while standing on a ladder and when I finished, my arms were sore for days. Unused muscles! It would be great to have a Hi-Lo. Also, how nice to find a pear tree with pears on it finally. Maybe it decided it was time to step up to the plate and start looking pretty like all the other fruit trees. That is really amazing – kind of like when one of my plants decides to flower or I find elephant ears growing in my garden that I never planted. Great blog Martha and I hope you will look in your archives and find some more travel pictures to show us.
