uTorrent preparing paid version

A paid upgrade to the popular torrent manager uTorrent is in the works, the makers of the program announced today.

Less than a month after the release of uTorrent 3.0 (download) , the program's parent company, BitTorrent Inc., revealed plans to introduce a paid upgrade called uTorrent Plus. Though it's still in development and unavailable to the public, uTorrent Plus promises to include tools that will eliminate codec problems, convert file formats, and move content between devices, according to the blog post announcing the product.

Also in that blog post, Jordy Berson, director of product management for uTorrent, promised that the free version "will receive the same level of commitment and development resources as it does now."

Around 100 million people call uTorrent their preferred torrent manager. To put that number in perspective, the security suite AVG Antivirus Free claims around 110 million active users, while Google CEO Larry Page just revealed that the Chrome browser has about 160 million users .

"uTorrent Plus is designed for people who are looking for a single solution to find, get, and play content anywhere, on any device," Berson wrote. The price point for uTorrent Plus has not been announced, The company has also created a sign-up page for people who want more information on uTorrent Plus.

@ Scott_Garrison dude take you head out of your rear if you have ill intentions for a software dont assume everyone else does. I use torrenting to get large files that direct downloads would take too long. example the latest Linux distro or a WOW update and the likes. torrenting is faster and more efficient than direct downloads as it has download resume @kevin7626 Dude, take YOUR head out YOUR rear. Just because YOU use it for valid reasons doesn't mean torrenting is an angelic thing that everyone uses for the same purpose. Let's face it, for every 1 person who uses it solely for good, there's about 10,000 that don't. uTorrent know that, torrent sites know that and you know that. Most none-technical people don't because the vast people with uTorrent use it for illegal reasons only and probably without even realising its illegal. Yes, it's complete ignorance on their behalf but if uTorrent don't do anything about educating people then its uTorrent's fault for not trying to get the message across. Do you see a warning sign when you start uTorrent that says "Please respect copyright" or anything like that?

NAV/NIS are monster harvest! i haven seen more then 20 videos (tests) of NIS/NAV 2010/2011 and Norton was clear winner in 95% of them, no theme if its compared to Kaspersky, Avira,MSE,Bitdefender, and even Comodo, every single file is cought by the impressive Sonar. Atm i’m using NAV 2011 and comodo firewall brilliant protection. The Only thing i reflect would come close is Avast + Comodo

P.S. I would really really, like to see NAV vs Avast test! plase do one!!
