Xbox Live Summer of Arcade release schedule announced

The first game up is Bastion, the world-building/action RPG with the old-school isometric viewpoint from Supergiant Games (staffed by plenty of Command & Conquer 3 and Red Alert 3 veterans). It'll be coming to XBL on July 20, for 1200 Microsoft Points.

Following that will be Out of this World and Another World creator Eric Chahi's ambitious nature-focused god game From Dust, arriving on July 27, likewise for 12000 MS Points.

Next up on August 3 is Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, a rather gorgeous-looking action puzzler from artist Michel Gagné, which will cost (go on, guess) 1200 MS Points.

August 10 sees the release of Fruit Ninja Kinect, which is Fruit Ninja, but for Kinect. It'll only cost 800 MS Points, however.

And finally, on August 17, there's Toy Soldiers: Cold War, Signal Studios' fist person combat/action strategy title, which will also cost 1200 MS Points.

As a bonus, those who buy all five titles will also get a free download of multiplayer RPG Crimson Alliance, which is otherwise due out on September 7 for 1200 Points.

The games should help liven up an otherwise deathly quiet summer - a quick glance at the games release schedule shows that the Summer of Arcade kicks off after a week in which literally no other games are currently scheduled for release.

They did the same last year and are doing it again this year too, using the Summer of Arcade excuse for bumping nearly all of the prices up to 1200 MSP.

Free Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn Download, Free Covert ...

Earlier today, we announced you that EA marks the 13′th anniversary of the Command and Conquer series by giving free downloads links for C&C: Red Alert. The cool thing is for the 12′th anniversary, EA made it so that you can also download the first game of the C&C Series: Tiberian Dawn, completely free.

Command & Conquer (or C&C, C&C1) marks the beginning of the Command & Conquer series, but is also the starting point for a fascinating story developed in a parallel universe where everything revolves around a resource called Tiberium and the fight between the Global Defense Initiative (a parallel universe UN) and the Brotherhood of the NOD (more of a cultist organization that anything else) over who controls the Tiberium.

The game was launched in 1995 for Windows and MS-DOS, but the Gold Edition brought some improvements (twice the resolution, a new and improved interface and several more). EA lets you download Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn (also called C&C, C&C 1) Gold Edition for free, by using this link.

The archive contains two ISO image files (one for each faction) that you can burn to a CD/DVD or mount on a virtual drive. NOTE: If you are trying to install the game on XP, please follow the instructions given by Electronic Arts here. In addition, XP users might not be able to play the game online.
