Midland, Texas- Record-breaking heat has city officials worried about unattended children at city pools. City of Midland Public Information Officer Tasa Watts tells CBS 7 that parents leave kids at city pools for long periods of time and lifeguards are having to baby sit.
City officials say that unsupervised children can lead to health risks like dehydration and sun burns because their parents arent around to look after them.

"As you know, beginning July 1, 2011 all Midland businesses and residents MUST comply with a mandatory outdoor watering program which is outlined in the Drought Contingency Plan, Stage 2. Residents and businesses may only water outdoors two times per week. Outdoor watering is based on residents' physical address.
