Monday Morning Mobile: #Fail
The iPhone is available. Since the adoption of the iPhone, I extended the limits Mpbile I was limited by light years.Access to information and level of efficiency that the iPhone gave me is unparalleled to any device I've ever owned. I was able to eliminate many other devices I once held because the iPhone is many appliances in one. Those are no longer required include, but are not limited to: camera clock, iPod, and alarm.In addition to requiring fewer devices, a large number of services I need on a daily basis have also found it on my way iPhone, movie tickets banking, weather, travel,, social networks and more.
As I am sure many of us know more applications you have the alerts you get, facebook, twitter, banking alerts, etc. The point of the column this week that took me a few sentences of access is Let push notifications at your own risk!
Last week, I had to speak at the conference on technology, real estate, Xplode, Orlando, 10 hours, I had to leave JFK airport in New York at 6 o'clockto arrive on time. I set my alarm for 4:00 so I could go on half past four to go to the airport in more than enough time to register and obtain security throguh, maybe even have a little bit. Meanwhile, Chase has decided to send a push notification night. This notification has frozen on my screen produces nothing to the public until it is cleared. When I woke up in total panic at 4:45 am aware that there would be no way to do it at JFK airport on time, I crossed the alert that was immediately followed by the sound of my alarm clock - much good it did me then. Needless to say, my laptop failed me.
The rebound:
I quickly took my composure and went straight to the mobile website of JetBlue, identified the next available flight, changed my ticket and I was preparing to head to the airport. Cab, I texted notification that I would be late, email the hotel file that I needed to print and waiting for my arrival, mapped from the Orlando airport to the hotel (info available on the conference website mobile) and reviewed (shortened) the presentation I would give later that day since my slot would certainly be reduced because of late.
The hectic nature of this morning, not only highlighted my dependence on my mobile, but the fact that the importance of having a mobile website in the mobile world today is no longer a luxury. It is a necessity for me and all other consumers, who, like me, often find themselves in need of information on the go. I will continue to Live Mobile.
