Bachelor Party Dancers

State College Weekend Plans: Friday, June 3, to Sunday, June 5

Centre Dance will put on its 20th annual spring recital starting at 6 p.m. at the State Theatre in State College. The event will include dancers ages 2 and older in a variety of ballet, point, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and acrobatic performances. Tickets cost $12 apiece; the recital will be performed again at 6 p.m. Saturday.

The band Rusted Root will play a live show starting at 7 p.m. at the Tussey Mountain Amphitheater. Tickets cost $30 apiece, and parking will be $5 a car. Additional information is available through a musical that follows a man named Nomax after his girlfriend leaves him. He soon finds five men named Moe emerging from the radio to help him through his misery. Friday will mark opening night for the production, which will start at 8 p.m. at the Penn State Downtown Theatre Center on South Allen Street, State College. Opening-night tickets are $60 apiece, though shows on later dates will cost $35 apiece for evening performances and $24 for matinees. Shows of the production are scheduled through June 25.

The State College Downtown Farmers Market continues on Locust Lane (across from the HUB lawn) between College Avenue and Beaver Avenue. The market is held Tuesdays and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Most of the fruits and vegetables sold are seasonal. Some of the vendors sell baked goods, canned goods and crafts all season long. All vendors produce or grow what they sell.

Bars and Clubs

Indigo in State College will feature happies from 10 p.m. to midnight, plus Local Motion's DJ Manik Mike .

Tommy Wareham will plan the American Ale House and Grill in Toftrees starting at 6 p.m.; happies there will run from 5 to 7 p.m. At Cafe 210 West , JR, James and Natalie will play starting at 6 p.m., with The Earthtones to follow at 10:30 p.m. For more complete bar specials and entertainment listings, visit StateCollege.com's , featuring gently used clothes, appliances, electronics and other household items from Penn State residential halls, will be held in a new location: inside the former Hills/Ames space on South Atherton Street, State College. An early-bird session will run from 7:30 to 9 a.m., giving early risers first crack at the merchandise. They'll have to pay $5 for admission. No-admission-fee access will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Centre County United Way. Since its inception, the sale has kept more than 600 tons of items from going to the landfill.
